Maison Velure Hair Care & Maintenance
MAISON VELURE
Hair Care Guide
Your hair has been thoughtfully selected and prepared with care. Proper maintenance helps preserve its softness, movement, and natural beauty.
Before Installation
We recommend preparing the hair before installation.
- Detangle gently using a wide-tooth comb or paddle brush, starting from the ends and working upward.
- Cleanse if desired using a sulfate-free shampoo.
- Condition thoroughly with a moisturizing conditioner.
- Allow hair to dry completely before installation or styling.
Daily Care
- Detangle regularly starting from the ends.
- Use lightweight serums or oils sparingly.
- Avoid excessive product buildup.
- Wrap hair with satin or silk at night.
- Store wigs on a wig stand or mannequin head when not in use.
Washing
- Detangle before washing.
- Wet hair thoroughly.
- Cleanse with a sulfate-free shampoo.
- Apply conditioner and allow it to sit for several minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly.
- Allow hair to air dry when possible.
Avoid scrubbing, twisting, or bunching the hair during washing.
Shedding & Tangling
A small amount of shedding is normal for human hair extensions.
- Brush gently and avoid pulling the hair.
- If bundle wefts are cut, sealing them may reduce shedding.
- Tangling often occurs from dryness or product buildup.
- Longer and curly textures require more moisture and detangling.
Heat Styling
- Always use a heat protectant.
- Use moderate heat settings.
- Avoid repeated high-heat styling.
Curly & Wavy Hair
- Use leave-in conditioner or curl cream.
- Lightly mist with water to refresh curls.
- Detangle while damp.
- Avoid brushing curly textures while dry.
Lace Care
- Handle lace gently during installation and removal.
- Avoid excessive adhesive buildup.
- Clean lace carefully with mild shampoo.
- Do not stretch lace while removing adhesive.
Sleeping & Activity
- Braid longer hair loosely before bed.
- Use a satin bonnet, scarf, or pillowcase.
- Secure hair before swimming.
- Rinse hair thoroughly after exposure to chlorine or salt water.
Color Processing
Maison Velure hair may be colored by a professional stylist. Professional color services are recommended for best results.
Proper Brushing Technique
Always brush starting at the ends and gradually work upward toward the root. Brushing from the root downward can create unnecessary tension.
